Roscongress and IPAQ CEOs Discuss Russian-Qatari Initiatives at Russia House in Davos

Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev and Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar (IPAQ) CEO Sheikh Ali Alwaleed Al Thani held a meeting at the Russia House in Davos. The meeting further built on the negotiations that took place as part of a visiting session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in Doha in December 2019. The two CEOs discussed practical measures to implement a previous agreement on ways to coordinate activities in investments and business initiatives, and also made proposals as part of a project to create a Qatari investment platform to support and promote innovative companies and Russian investments.

«The joint work of Roscongress and IPAQ is a vivid example of the ongoing multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Qatar. We intend to continue jointly working to implement promising Russian-Qatari projects on an ongoing basis», Al Thani said. For his part, Stuglev stressed the importance of bilateral business cooperation and attracting direct and portfolio Qatari investments for priority Russian projects.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance of Qatar Saud Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah and Qatar Financial Center CEO Yousuf Mohamed Al-Jaida.

In 2020, Qatar will take part in the SPIEF with the honorary status of a guest country. This status entails an official delegation of the highest level taking part in the Forum as well as a representative business delegation and an intensive business dialogue.
